Todays Bargains - I am very pleased
« on: April 27, 2011, 17:34 »
Cupressus Goldcrest - reduced to half price.

A conical shaped box 2ft high.   I found a few tucked away in the G/C for £14.50 (the price where they are displayed £30.    It is growing really well, so I am a happy girl today. Mrs Bouquet

Mine was a good bargain, too: FREE, yes, FREE, plant pot trays which can take up to 15 3" pots  from H****base.  I picked up quite a few and the lass on the gardening counter told me to take as many as I could carry!  They get through thousands of pots per week and the trays get left behind. :D :D :D

Chrysalis - do the trays have holes in the bottom to let the water drain or are they solid?

My local g/c gives trays away by the dozen but they all have drainage holes and I want some that don't!

Hi, sorry not to get back to you till after the nuptials - I was in the garden :D

The trays from H***base were free and they only have drainage holes in between the pot spaces.  That means you can water well and not lose it all, but they aren't swimming!  Good luck finding some.  I don;t know if other shops are the same as the Stafford one

and so far I have saved lots of money by not buying things that were a bargain, which in reality I did not need  :D :D

Really pleased as I am usually a bit of a sucker for the bargain aisle  ;)

Which does not mean I think no-one should take advantage of these offers if it is what they do need of course....

Yes I know what you mean Sunny, but I did buy with a person in mind & even Mr S said about the pottery that they would be more money next year. As for the t's I do have theirs if I can get them at a reduced price as they are good quality & they wash & keep their shape, but it can be just too tempting in the sales can't it  ::)

I feel rather jealous.
I went into town solo as OH hates shopping and he's just gone away for a few days (yes, I know NY eve and all that!!), but couldn't find anything I liked at all.  Came away with a tin of pineapple chunks from Mand S for my dad's lunch tomorrow!

Does that make me really sad, or what? :D

I finally got out to the post Christmas sales today and came away with very little (pats self on back). Just got some Christmas gift bags for 24p ea, red and green tissue packs for 44p ea, Baby's first Christmas ornament half priced as well as a very cuddly teddy bear (half priced) for next year. I'm truly proud of myself for walking past the Chocolate Oranges and other candy all half priced.
