Runner Beans...

What is the spacing required between poles? Also, do I put a plant on each side of the pole?

Good link WG but it's too early yet to even bother about them Fatgaz, mid April in the midlands, at the earliest in my opinion. Started them in the greenhouse one year on April 1st , they were about 4'+ tall by june

Mid April is precisely what I have on my sowing plan! I start them off in the greenhouse in deep trays, (yes cat litter ones again), harden off & then transplant. Never had a gap yet & always over estimate a few 'spares'!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Spacing depends On who you follow!!

Most down our site favour one plant per cane per foot in a double row with 2' spacing, but I'm very tempted with Munty's frame for ease of picking. Fortunately space is not a problem for me!
