Garlic

Myself and a possible 105 others may have lost our allotments, i want to grow some Garlic for next year, is there any reason to not using large flower pots, i have 3 large unopened tomato planting bags could use the contents??

I grow garlic in plastic flower troughs filled with a mixture of old MPC and rotted hos muck. 

MPC = Multi purpose compost
