My allotment 6x4m seems to be one huge red ant nest. Don't want to use chemicals etc any advice?

Thanks, what about the worms? Do they damage plants or is it just annoying, already been stung all up my arms! Didn't notice them at first.

I've been doing heaps of research on this one and I'm awaiting a delivery of Borax. Some of it I'll be mixing with bacon fat for them to take back to the nest and some of it I will be mixing with water to make a spray.

Take a look at this video, might be some help!

I have always had problem with red ants and boy they do sting and they are everywhere

I tend to unearth them and then run for it and work on another patch of the allotment. They don't like being disturb and tend to move away. I have thought about treating them with something chemical but never got round to sourcing a product. Don't have a kettle on site only a flask of my tea and putting it on the ants seems a waste of a good brew  :)

What I have discovered is that they tend to have their nests at the edges of the plot where the grass meets the soil. So this year I have created raised beds with membrane and wood chipping round the edges for paths. So far (touch wood) the ants have not bother me and I have not bothered them.  :)
