................... do they need a mahoosive one?

Also, I know they trail,  but do they  need to grab onto anything, or do they just mosey along? 

I'm planning on them trailing along the conservatory, but I'm having  raised decking put there soon so may need to move them ........but if they grab walls etc. I may have to put them somewhere else in the first place.

What size container and can I move them once they start to grow if I have too?

As big a container as you can - one per growbag probably. They do like a lot of nourishment. They don't exactly grab walls so you could move a plant in a pot but it would be easy to snap bits off. Let the plant begin to form a fruit or two and then cut it back a bit beyond the fruits. That might make it more handleable.

On the back of the seed packet I have it says that butternut can be grown in a container and half a barrel is recommended

Thank you Noshed and Sunshineband, I have a couple of 40 litre builders buckets spare so I'll use them

Now..... how do you fit a field full of stuff into a lickle garden ? .....
