We have Finally got our chickens , we have 5 hens a columbine which has given us 4 eggs in 5 days and is top in the pecking order, a white star who is skittish, a speckled who's the biggest but so laid back, a Black star who likes to preen the others and likes her greens, and the Ranger who is  bottom of the pecking order but is the most inquisitive and most friendly, all have their own personalities and characters, i watch them for hours

Just wanted to ask:
How are your 5 Hens doing now you have had them for a few weeks?
We are getting some. Been delayed till next Thursday but then we are collecting some Sussex and a Brahm. All female pont of lay. Hope they are going to get on ok. We have changed our minds so much about breeds but always come back to the Sussex. We have different kinds of breeds here in France and suit hasn't been easy.

It's 4 weeks since we got our girls they are 20 weeks now, the columbine has been giving us large blue eggs nearly every day since we got them, but today we also got a brown egg as well, not sure who it's off yet,( think it's the black star) the other 3 girls are not far away from laying as they have started squatting which is a sign there nearly laying, we let them out of their run onto my allotment while i'm there which they love, my wife goes down after work to give them their afternoon treats, watching them destresses her she says.

Hi,
Got my three sussex now. They are 6 months old and just started laying. Must be happy.
Haven't got the Brahma yet as we just want to enjoy these and then decide if it's right to have another hen.

It's 8 weeks since we got our 5 girls, they are all laying now, it's very rare we don't get 5 eggs a day, which is more than i expected from them, they all get on together and all have different personalities, i didn't notice being with them every day, but looking back at pictures they have grown so much.

 they give hours of amusement not to mention the eggs for a little food and water
