Ah bless em. They're gorgeous :D Eight years old is a fabulous age for a hen  :)

Hi, they're very pretty, how many do you have?

Lovely photos. Grass envy, flower envy and sunshine envy :)
I love the one of them on the bench.

we have 10 at the moment , their all bantams , we prefer bantams as being smaller means we can keep more for the hen house size we have , and they lay smashing little eggs :D
they free range 90% of the day but we have a 40ft run we put them in if we are not around as we have foxes and buzzards round here where we live
-
Love them all!
-
Lovely chickens!
Welcome to the forum.

Lovely looking assortment you have there, and welcome to the site. We let our freerange in the garden most of the day, it's the flowerbeds that are caged!

hi .... they came from this breeder http://www.wylyevalleychickens.co.uk/
her name is Fleur , she really cares for her flock , very healthy birds , she fully vaccinates , we have to have vaccinated birds as we once had marek's disease which killed all our birds , since then we only get from fully vaccinated breeders as once you've had this disease its guaranteed you'll get it again
and yes most are very tame as I make a point of handling them as much as I can
what birds do you have ?
-
I have two beautiful new girls but so timid! With me only a few days 'Livestock Market' thread. It just seems so unlikely they will ever let me pick them up just listed them for sale. They feed from my hand cautiously and at night I stroke them a bit in their coop but still not looking good.
Were yours timid to start with?
-
yes they all hid in the corner first day
2nd day bit more curious
3rd day more confidence
and so on .......... try some live food ( fishing maggots if you can get them ) that will get their attention , and suddenly you will become the focus of all their attention ;)
When mine see me it's a mad dash to see who can get to me first LOL not because of affection just because I have food !!!!

It's been a week for us and lots of mealworm bribery gone on but I think unlikely to get really tame..
