OH wants a nice spring and summer display in our new hen pen and has re-sown the grass with a mix of grass seed and wild flower mix. He's also going to plant some daffs, crocus, snowdrops and English bluebells around the apple trees. Is this a wise thing to do and will this work ok or will the hens devour them?

mine never ate fowers apart from calla liliies, bamboo leaves and there was a flower they would decimate at seed time. poss japanese anenome.

Ah well, they're all planted now and the only one on the list that's toxic is daffs. Hey, ho. We'll just have to see how it goes.

Mine would dig up any plant they did not eat with the excuse there might be a tasty worm in the roots !
