I think having some sulphate of potash sounds a good idea.

Where do you get it at a decent price?

Depends how much you need / how many plants.  If "Not many" then local garden centre / Wilkos etc. will save any carriage cost.

I buy all my gardening stuff "Trade" from LBS - no apparent requirement to be "trade", but you get the retail price unless you buy in bulk.  But I check eBay before buying anything as sometime sellers like elixirgardens are cheaper

e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_ssn=elixirgardens&_nkw=potash

(Their 25kg Sulphate of Potash is £40.39, LBS is £33.85 for one falling to £24.05 each for bulk quantity. No idea if they are competitive prices, and I doubt you need 25kg!!!, just the first couple I happened to look up)

Remember that Sulphate of Potash, like several "additives" needs to be stored in the dry or it absorbs water and sets like a brick

I keep mine in a plastic box with a re-sealable lid, which seems to do the trick

Don't feed until flowers form and only with a low nitrogen, high potash fertiliser like a tomato fertiliser.
