[birds in a basket]

Have been reading various books etc and can't come to a conclusion about where the food and water should be kept Some seem to indicate outside and others in the coop.  Should I use a hanging water thingie in the coop and put the food in there too or outside or both - I am confused.com

You don't put food or water in the coop where the birds sleep. Outside in their run is best. They don't need food or water when they're in bed

Purely from experience I have found it best to hang both the water and food containers as this helps to keep them much cleaner. If you are not able to do this I would try to find a way to raise them off the ground, but it would need to be done so that they are not knocked over. Chooks are not known for being gentle!!
