Rub fat in to flour, add seasoning & often some cheese,so if using reduce the fat(marg/butter) from half fat to flour.

I liked Michel Roux's cheese and hazelnut crumble on top pumpkin and swede crumble. Would also be good on courgettes or any roasted veg.
100 g butter
150g plain flour
1 tsp Maldon sea salt
100g cheddar grated
75g chopped hazelnuts or walnuts.

I also like to add some mustard to cheese crumbles and some sage or rosemary.
This is also a good time saver if you make the crumble mix and freeze it.
