funny coloured aubergines

i have had a very good crop of nice deep purple aubergines until about 2 weeks ago now they  a sort of yucky brown/green coloured any ideas whats wrong. cheers tracy

I have quite a good load of aubergines in GH. The packet said to pick them just when theie skins turn from shiny to dull. I'm doing that even tho they are quite small.  Have yours gone past that point? Just a thought.
The less time you have, the more becomes available.

Aubergines don't change colour when they are ready like toms/peppers, at least mine don't. They start the same shade they finish. They come in different shades though depending on the variety.

Sorry that I don't know the answer.  I have been trying to grow them for 3 or 4 years and this year I have one!!!  It is massive and a lovely black colour, I hadn't thought that it may get too ripe so I had better look to see what to do with it.  Another apology we are off to Lanzarote this year despite enjoying Fuerteventura for the last couple of years.
