I have a tub of calcium suplement for the girls for when I get the odd softie. This is in powder form is this okay to put in there water. I have always put it in the food but it doesnt stick very well to the pellets and kind of falls to the bottom.

Also can I give them some soya oil on there food. I get it for the horses and they look amazing on it just wondered if the girls would like a bit. Anyone tried soya oil. If not does anyone use a bit of oil that the girls like or it does something good for them.

You wouldn't need to give all your girls the calcium suppliment so I wouldn't mix it with their feed. If you have one hen that needs it then add a little pinch onto something like a half a grape or a couple of pieces or sweetcorn.

But I cant always tell who lays the softie. You know what its like you watch them as much as possible and just as you tirn your back for a single minute someone has laid the softie and the others are running off with it like whippets trying to eat it.

Ive still got 6 ex bats so it could be any of them and 4 just started laying and it could be any of them. Ill keep watching.
