For the the last couple of years when I have sown some cottage garden type mixes of annual seeds I have had a large number of things growing very fast that look and taste like a large rocket or similar. I ended up pulling them out. Anyone else had same problem? Or are they flowers in clever disguise? Foolishly I dont think I have kept packets so I dont know  what to avoid in future.

Wild rocket would have been a common cottage garden plant, so its often included in mixes. If it's a problem for you then simply select individual types you like and make your own mix. Check the shops for a cottage mix so you'll know what's commonly put in them and what you want to avoid.

Ah so that might explain it. I wasnt imagining things. There seems to be an awful lot of it though! Making own mix is a good idea - but I only have a small are to cover unfortunately

Should have added that the rocket seeds would be very cheap to 'fill' the mix with, so they'd be in larger proportion.
