I'm having a mental blank here

My allotment is split into six beds all equal size of 17foot x 10 foot and I'm trying to work out the size for topsoil ordering.

Can someone please carry out this simple calculation for me as I'm having a bad day

Whats the six beds total size in square feet

SORRY!!!!!!!!!

six times 170 square feet = 1020 square feet

spot on alex :-)

To calculate the amount to buy it depends on the depth you want :-)

Standard Allotment = 550 square yards = 8 square poles
 1 Acre = 160 square poles

You need to come live in Lincolnshire..........

Would it not also depend on how thick a layer you want your topsoil?

You only entitled to dig down six feet. Legally the government owns the mineral rights below that, so you have to get a mining permit :D :D
