Hate to fly in the face of what youve all said but the leaves look too wide to belong to the Day lily. We have loads of a similar plant in our garden and the leaves on my plant are the same as the picture. Could it be Montbretia. It grows everywhere and Im always digging it up.  :oops:

Just looked it up and they do look very similar.
I'm hopeless at identifying.

Best not eat anything until confirmed !

My Montbretia leaves are stiffer, stand more vertically and have more pointed tips than my day lillies.

Toothbrush probably not a problem but you have to be really careful with those carrier bags; you just leave one little bit behind and you'll find them sprouting up everywhere
