Thanks Mrs Bee. Had some on toast for breakfast. Really tasty. It even helps a little to decant some into a ramekin and put on the table an hour before I found out :-)

Yep, that would work too. If you are doing that you could also mix in a little drop of water to thin it a little more.

I love Damson jam as it has a lovely sharp flavour to it and does not taste as sweet as some jams.

If it is quite firm you could try cutting it in squares and serving it with cheese, using it like quince paste/ membrillo.

Good idea but its perhaps not that firm. Also my next attempt will be damson cheese. Sounds a bit like damdon flavoured turkish delight which really appeals to me.

I daren't make damson cheese I wouldn't be able to leave it alone. Love damson jam  have you tried damson and rhubarb too.
