Title: What's the difference between Google and Google Chrome?
Post by: Goosegirl on March 13, 2020, 10:51
For the first time I had to use Google Chrome because my OH wanted to make some bids in an on-line auction and I couldn't get it to work with Google. Having rung up the auction chappie he told me I had to use Chrome because that was the only way he could get logged in.

Chrome is Google's internet browser, in the same way that Internet Explorer is (or was) Microsoft's browser.  (Other browsers are also available. ;))

'Google' is just their search engine, although the list of other Google products is almost endless.  ::)

Chrome is free, and I use it all the time now. As Microsoft keep getting in the way with their Edge, and Onedrive, which I really don't want, I do everything with Chrome docs and spreadsheets for nothing! You can uses their Onedrive to store all these online and unless you put all those - er - videos there, you get a huge amount of free space!

I keep all my photos on an external hard drive,to save getting 'reminders' from MS too!

Goosey, Chrome is dead easy to use! I don't know about online auctions, as I only use Ebay for that, but there might be a need for sharing a file over Chrome which again is very easy, and saves adding attachments etc.

Jezza, I've only used it once and haven't seen anything about paying for it so far, but I think I'll stick with Google for the time being as it's always worked for me so far.
