I'm not sure where to post this one but I'll have a go here first.I've always fancied planting a globe artichoke in my cottage herb,flower,fruit ,veg potager style garden but thought they took up a lot of space BUT for the first time this year I planted a large block of tulips(about 120 bulbs) and they look stunning.I was wondering if I could combine the two(artichoke/summer and autumn tulips/spring) .I'm imagining the artichoke disapearing in the winter giving the tulips a chance to develop and flower before the artichoke really gets going .The tulips are just going over the top now so I will be clearing the foliage away in 3 week anyway.They would be going in a 6 by 6 raised bed which according to what iv'e read is enough for one artichoke.Are my timings realistic o'r completley cuckoo?.Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
