I usually do mine in February but my neighbour has already done his and says the RHS advises it’s done in December. Any advice? I have to say February works for me, but I usually have to do another tidy in early summer as it grows so vigorously.

AS long as you prune them before the sap begins to rise, they're fine.
Here, for my greenhouse vine, if I leave them until February they tend to bleed sap everywhere, so I have to remember to prune them in the New Year.

and yes, I have to do a lot of summer pruning if I want to get through the greenhouse door

Thanks mum. I’ll wait for a good cold snap in jan or February. I’m not keen to do it now in this rainy humid weather.

Hello an old man I worked for always pruned his indoor grape vines on Christmas day after his dinner,depending how much homemade wine he had for his dinner determined how far back he pruned them  jezza
