Hi all,

We have a great bit of land with super dark soil but we missed the boat for turning it to get it ready for new year planting. So we got on with our chicken and duck plan, which is going great!
Can we get the ground ready for some winter planting? And any other thoughts welcome!!

Carrie :)

I have sown some winter cauli and cabbage, if you really want to get something off it this year all the well known seed companies do plug plants for august planting .or you could just concentrate on clearing it and putting stuff on it i.e maure ready for next year . start getting some seeds in the sales (not parsnip tho)and plan your plot .have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lisax

The answer lies in what you put into the ground!

LOL!! Thank you Beejay! :tongue2:
Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone (into your spring greens!)

Thanks Misty, had a look and will be a very good reference point.

Thanks Lisa80, we were probably being a bit greedy hoping for some veggies but might be better to prepare and plan!

Hi Carrie,

Now it is time to plant late cropping potatoes.  Their seeds are a bit expensive but it will be nice to get fresh potatoes well into winter.
