Soft shells
« on: June 14, 2010, 21:13 »
I have 3 birds, two are laying fine (touch wood) but one is laying soft shells.

They are feed Layers pellets. Have plenty of Oyster shell grit available.

What can I do? surely if it was something specific I was doing wrong they would all have a problem?

I had a problem with Soft Shell eggs, and I kept going around and around in circles trying to figure out what the issue was -  and then I clicked -  it was the Layers Pellets I was using.  I normally always go for organic layers ,  but in January purchased something in bulk on special.  From that point on I had the soft shell problem.

Changed back over to my normal and sure enoughnot a soft shell egg since !
