Just a short question please.

Has anyone brought the fruit canes from wilko? (The £1 ones) I have and planted them.

I have just read on topic here that that I need to know if they are summer or winter ones, because "Summer rasps need support, autumn ones don't. They need different pruning techniques too, so you really need to know which ones you've got. "

I do not know which ones I have, how will I find out?
Any advice please

If the sort isnt listed on the box you can just plant them and see when they fruit (you will probably have a handful this year.

the way I see it, it is not a bad thing if you support them even if they dont need it but if they DO need support and you dont then you might not get a huge yield.

the most common (and cheapest) varieties are summer fruiting.

I'd support all mine regardless of fruiting time, last thing you need is for them to snap or sumat in a high wind. Anyway looks neater.
