Leaving chicks in the incubator
« on: April 21, 2008, 16:20 »
All the advice i have read suggests that i should leave new chicks in the incubator for a day to dry off and fluff up. The incubator i have is a bulb heater one - will the bulb going on and off just above the chicks head for 24 hours drive the chooks a little mad!!!?
If you do things well, do them better. Be daring, be first, be different, be just.

Not sure as I dont use incubators think its quite usual to leave them until fluffed up them move to a brooder.
I know its important to have something their little feet can grip without slipping like paper towels or such like to prevent splayed legs.

There are a few here who use incubators so one will be along to give some advice
