I normally let the foliage die right back so all the goodness goes back into the corm and leave them to dry just like onions and take off all the loose dirt but take care that you don't knock off the little bulbs(cormels).Store them in a cool but frost free place that's also dry overwinter.Check occasionally and discard ones that go mouldy.

In late winter /early spring take off the cormels and plant in a seed tray about an inch apart in gritty compost with just the top peeping out.When they've grown a bit and all danger of frost is past plant them in a nursery bed.They take two to three years to flower but you get a nice smug feeling when they do.Remember to lift in winter like the flowering ones.It's worth doing if you buy a mix of corms and theres one or two types you like

If you do want to grow a specific type from a mix of corms remember to mark which corm you like and keep it seperate.I've made the mistake of thinking I'll remember but I haven't yet
