Title: Too late to plant tulip bulbs

Ive been given a bag of unwanted tulip bulbs, im going to bung them in somewhere, but what are the chances of success this year?

I'd have thought slim.  My tulips went in last autumn and I suspect they need the period of cold to help with their growth cycle.  That being said, you never know ...

They should go in early autumn, so that the sun bakes the bulbs to get the best results. Put them in , you have nothing to lose but i would not expect any flowers this year.

Well, they'll die if not planted, give'em a chance :)

Plant them anyway so they'll stay in reasonable shape. It's far too late for this year but next year should give you some flowers.

Thanks guys,Ive stuck them in a coulple of pots and will see what happens.
