Do you mean Blue Chip buddleia? I haven't grown it myself, but it seems to be a good pot plant growing about 2 ft high. You'll need to do some light pruning in spring as this one will flower on new wood as the taller varieties do, but don't prune quite so hard. Plant or place pot in full sun with moist well draining soil and fertilize in early spring. Planted buddleias are reasonably drought tolerant but potted ones need occasional watering. Buddleia is a deer resistant plant for those who suffer that problem.

As a perennial, it will die back for winter and at that time I'd move the pot under some eaves for protection or into an unheated greenhouse. Winter weather has been changing and a bit of precaution will save you money.

Thanks Trillium, yes it is the Blue Chip Buddleia.  We've had to cut down our full size one and saw these when I was looking for a replacement.  Do they have to be grown in patio pots or can they be planted up as a border inter spaced with Lavender?

Yes, they can planted out, just give the lavender enough space to spread so they don't swamp the buddleia when they bloom. Water in well at planting time, then just keep an eye on it the first year if there's little rain.
