Title: Oh no....
Post by: Novice on February 23, 2006, 21:02
....Mrs.Novice is getting restless about the odd few potatoes chitting on the spare room windowsill. I've kept the heating off in there to keep them coolish, but she's insistent on having the heating on, so its a bit warmer in there when she uses the PC.
Options:
1) Collect temporary greenhouse ( plastic frramed little jobby ) from Father in Law and chit potatoes in that now ( even though it's unheated ) 2) Is it ok to have it a bit warmer in the spare room ?
3) Enlist at marriage guidance ?!?!!??!

you could get the green house and put the PC in there in full sunlight :)

I'd be wary about outside, if they freeze you've had it.
They don't need a lot of light - perhaps a shed or garage?
As for Mrs Novice.. have  you explained how computers work better in cooler temperatures? The electron flow in the chip gets faster as it drops. (You needn't explain that you need freezing equipment to see the difference)

Thanks for the advice folks....I know all about freezing equipment, when I've been up the allotment and that East wind is blowing.. ha ha.!!
I'd get them into the shed, but I'm concerned that the resident mice might take all the new shoots, or worse, eat the whole lot.
