Lavender

Does Lavender grow like Mint does or should I be ok to grow it along side my herbs? I have a nice space that it could fill but I dont want it to take over!
It can't rain all the time.

Treat it mean, keep it keen. Lavender grows well in rubbish soil (sandy and well draining). Once it's taekn you shouldnt need to bother much with it.

:D Lavender isn't invasive at all. Wish I could keep it growing here.

I'm not a great expert on the subject but the English lavenders I've grown (Hidcote, and also Munstead if I remember correctly ) tend to form nicely rounded, fairly low shrubs which can be kept in check to some extent by trimming back as far as you dare after flowering (they won't regenerate if you cut them back into the woody stems.)

The French lavenders seem to grow a bit more straggly for me, but the good news is that both of them seem to strike cuttings very easily if they get too big for their boots.  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

It should form clumps, which will increase in size, but it gets very straggly; pruning sorts that out.  Definitely not invasive like mint!  Enjoy!  :)
