Thank you

Sorry to hijack, but I am glad you asked as I thought I was rather stupid to be struggling with toms (thats why I was not brave enough to ask )  :nowink:

Mine were all certified seed.. my dads were from an allotment potato day so I would hope they were ok. Its one of those that seems to be having the problems..

Is there anything that i can do to stop it ?? :(

When you say "Allotment Potato" day, who supplied them?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Sorry DD i didnt see this.. To be honest im not sure who supplied them. My dad is a member of another local allotment and went to their allotment shop/shed when they had loads of potatos for sale..

I should have thought about it and asked where they were from :(

Im going down tomorrow after work as i couldnt today. Going to have a close look at all the potatos and rip up everything with the same wilted leaves. When i was there sunday it was only that plant that was like that.. although the 1 next to it looked a little 'dry'.. i really hope its not spreading!

I'd have thought an allotment association would sell only certified seed spuds, but I'd check with your Dad.

It looks like your seed potato has perished in the ground and that has caused the plant to curl its leafs as it is dying.
If we see things like this we dig the plant out and remove what is left of the tuber.
Visit my website and view my potato blog and videos.

my toms had curled leaves last week because they were too hot in the greenhouse. I left the door open for a couple of days and now they are fine again  :)

Yes I checked with him today and ALL potatos being sold were certified as I had hoped so not sure really whats going on!

Checked again today and quite a lot of the maris pipers look a bit curled but nothing like that first photo.. Also looks like the nearest Kestrel is doing the same.. although i may have messed up and planted the wrong one there!

Left them all alone and will check again soon.. Worried again now though.

First and second earlies and all the other main crops look fine.. Pulled a couple of new potato plants and got enough for our tea tonight so hopefully....

Thanks to all for help and advice :)
