After some recent troubles with what we think was probably ILT, losing 3 hens, the others seemed to rally and we thought we were over the bad luck.
Unfotunately we lost all remaining 8 to the fox while we were away on holiday... :( Left 2 headless corpses and a feather bath for my poor neighbour to find, took the rest.
We'll start again as soon as we can (the garden is so still & bleak without them - like a ghost garden) but understand that due to the illness it's a good idea to rest the ground for a while.
Does anyone know how long we should wait?
Thanks everyone

Hi gingerplant, I can't help with the length of time you should leave the ground to rest I just wanted to say how sorry it is that you have had such a bad experience. Good luck when you start off again

Thanks Kathie. It was awful, managed to hold it together till daugter cried, then lost it! Eating the last egg was rather emotional!! Feel gutted...
