Title: Life Guard™ Tonic
Post by: Barry J Scott on January 17, 2007, 14:49
Does anyone use Life Guard™ Tonic?

I got some tonic and some poultry spice to give to my chickens when they move in to help keep them fit and strong through the stress of the move.  On the Life Guard™ Tonic it has a maintenance dose of 25ml per 10 litres or 25ml per 2 litres if the chickens "are not ideal".  Which dose should I use?

EDIT: Found the answer on a website, "ie. at times when the birds are particularly stressed or in poor condition."

Also any general advice on moving the birds would be appreciated.  I have some conflicting information as to how long they should be kept in the house after the move and also as to if I need to clip the wings, fence around the run is only going to be around 4 foot high.

My two chooks have clipped wings and can flap 4 feet into the air when they want too as long as they have something to land on at the top otherwise they won't try.

I was advised too keep them in their run for about 5 days so that they learnt where home is

Hope that helps :D
