Our girls live in a run (have dogs so they don't have run of the whole garden). I am a lazy gardener so have loads of weeds, which ones can my girls eat as a treat & which need to go on the compost heap. Have trawled the web but a lot of the help seems to be from countries that have different weeds to GB. Any ideas please.

Leave a pile of each weed you have in the run,  they will eat the ones they want to and leave the others.

Most weeds.  Apparantly not keen on some herbs due to the strong taste, but chooks love ground elder (lucky as I am over run with the stuff), haven't tried nettles, but everything else gets thrown in, what isn't eaten just is taken out for the compost heap.  Means I don't have to weed all in one go.  Little and often.  Don't give them tomato leaves or rhurbarb.  Experiment.

Mine tend to like the young shoots of weeds, when they get really big they are not as fussed.  So if you cut your weeds down they will enjoy keeping them in check as they regrow.
