All potted up and moved  :)  Have put a table up in front of patio doors. Might be a bit cold at night though so will pull curtains and perhaps leave that radiator on low. Hope I haven't killed em anyway...

Right next in the sowing tray wotsit are the marigolds...

Well yesterday I potted all my tom seedlings up and put them in my plastic greenhouse outside cos the cats kept sleeping on my trays of seedlings (ruined my herbs and my cauli, sprouts and broccoli).

Then today I read your post and the replies - whoops.  Fingers crossed etc.

Now I've heard everything.  Off now to play some Bach to my celeriac seeds.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

It does work. When you eventually put them outside you'll see they do get stiffer and stronger after being in the breeze. (that's if you've avoided my hurricane method of hardening off, which does not work.)

Agree with the seedling brushing, very useful technique to toughen up the little ones before facing the outside world.
BTW I believe that turning seedlings by a window CAUSES stretching as the stem on the dark side grows faster than normal to create the bend, when turned same happens on other side, and so on.
Therefore go with reflector idea (white paper is as effective as ally foil).

My tomato seedlings popped through on Tuesday. All have the two leaves at the top and have grown to between 5 and 10 cm tall already.

They are in a modular tray wotsit and each module is apporx 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches. My question is how long til I move them to larger tray/small pots please?

Thanks

Hi Yummy,
You said they had two leaves, are these the first leaves that appeared when they sprouted?  Or are they the second set - true leaves?  If they are not the second set, then leave them alone and cut back watering a little (but not to dry out) and get them more light.

Hi
Thanks for the answer.
They were the seed leaves but it's too late now because I already potted them on Tuesday. They seem happy enough though.
