planted some comfrey back in the spring, took off beautifully so very pleased, looking forward to lovely fertiliser. Came home the other day and hubby said i think your comfrey has been dug up!! We are having a lot of work done in the garden and the guys doing it have indeed dug up my comfrey and I have just found it buryed in the skip!!!!! :( :mad: ??? >:(

Just plant it back up. It will be fine.

and have a word with your 'gardeners' and tell them to do some research!

I will try and recover it from the skip, it looks beyond reviving though, burying under a load of rubble!!

The plants wouldn't be any use to you anyway as your new chickens will dig them up in a few weeks time :D

We had some gardeners like that around to trim our privet hedge last year. They pollarded the blackthorn tree standing in the hedgerow and carefully left the privet around it untouched, clearly couldn't tell which was which.

Comfrey is tough as old boots and just a sliver of root will make a new plant.
Plant up your sad thing with lots of compost and water and it will survive. :D

As viettaclark says comfrey is tough and nearly impossible to dig it all up, you will probably find it regrowing next spring, I know I've tried.
