I have been a bit under par and not able to get to my chicks for the last few days. I have had to wait for hubby to come home and fetch the eggs in. Not a problem but they have not been laying very well I thought.

I have now observed all 3 dogs helping themselves. No wonder they have been farting so bad.

Has anyone got any ideas. The chooks free range in my garden.

On the serious side Rachel how are the dogs getting to the eggs?

Can you not blow some and fill them with chilli, A lot of folk do tht with egg eating hens....Might work

I have three dogs a bichon who easily gets in the coop and eats them while standing. A cocker spaniel who pokes his head in the coop and got stuck with three eggs in his mouth, and a lab cross who just puts his head in to eat the pooh and if he finds an egg he treats it like a treasure.

At night the coops are all secure but during the day the hens can come and go as they like.

For a minute HH i thought you meant blow up my dogs lol. Now there is an idea. Once I am a little better they dont get the chance cos i get them. It might still be worth a try.

Can you create a barrier of some kind that the hens can get through or over but not the dogs?
