Farewell asparagus, hello strawberries

Farewell asparagus, hello strawberries

So the asparagus is all but over for the year but have taken several kilos each week since they popped up so it is fair to say we are fairly asparagussed out!!

But joy of joys, I picked the first strawberries yesterday. Well,  just 3, but that is ALWAYS one of the most exciting teasers of the gardening year for me...

My asparagus a a few years to go before harvesting, but I've just started on the greenhouse strawbs - yum. Partner has them in porridge, I just eat them with a bit of sugar. The taste is amazing when still warm from the sun :)

Up Here, I have the pleasure of a few more weeks of the asps (the loo is always whiffy!), but the strawbs are nowhere near yet...
