Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and vegetable growing and haven't even introduced myself yet but am hoping you will be able to advise me.  I've been digging a patch of ground I intend to plant up with veggies (carrots, various salads, cabbage but not potato - they are in a barrel) but it seems to be full of wriggly, caramel coloured worm-like creatures.  I thought they were wire worms but I've been looking up details and I don't think they can be.  These are not tough skinned, very thin and they curl up tightly in the light.  They don't have three pairs of legs.

Are they going to spell disaster or is there something I can do to treat the ground,  I would prefer a biological control if possible.
