Growing spuds in sawdust
I grew some spuds in straw last year along with spuds in the soil! The ones in the waterlogged soil grew ok, got blight and i lost half the crop, but still tasted nice

The straw ones were kept well watered by the persistent rain and i added a bit of manure on the straw every now and again for food. They cropped roughly the same amount of spuds and tasted just as good!

Only prob with it is in dry summers as you really have to keep them watered!!
