hi,
has anyone grown and had sucess with the very hot Bhut jolokia chillie from seed and if so any suggestions on the best way to germinate them.  I'm thinking of sowing in pots, covered with cling film and kept in the airing cupboard until they sprout then moving them to warm windowsill.  Plan to keep them in greenhouse throughout summer.  living in the south east.
Any helpful tips or suggestions.

It sounds OK. Depends on temperatures in there. Like all peppers, chillies, they will need well above 20C for good germination.

Soaking the seeds overnight before sowing into soil also does help.

Just be very careful with those end products.

treat them as you would grow a normal chilli. I am not a great fan of hot stuffs and the reference I heard from my colleague at work is they are not as strong as you would expect (sorry i dont have scale). the reason being over watering and the climate over here. chilli gets its strength from starving them (of water).
he was growing dorset naga a cultured version of the original parent. give a try and post results.
