Hello all, just introducing myself...

I'm Wes from near Preston, Lancashire. After almost two years on the council waiting list, I was able to take over an allotment a couple of weeks ago.

Given that we're almost in May, my aim for this year will be modest and probably limited to getting it cleared, fenced and ready ahead of Winter for next season. Anything else is a bonus!

May is nearly here, but there is plenty you can still get started and grow this year. Feel free to ask for help with anything, no matter how trivial it seems, there's always plenty of people here to help

You may well be able to get some crops in if you focus on clearing a small area - it would be a pity to only focus on clearance and not eating!

I've made good progress this first two weeks, so I may well have a chance. The widespread mares tail will likely be a bigger challenge than the physical clearing!
