I was over the moon to see the hyacinth bulbs I planted last year had survived the wet winter! I'm trying to fill the bed under the mature fruit trees with spring bulbs for the early pollinators  :)

I'm very lucky to have a woodland area a mere 5 minutes walk from the front door. The ground has finally dried enough that I could walk the dog there this morning. The wild garlic and bluebells were a treat!
Also the first poppy flower in the garden and a calla I picked up from Homebase for £5 this week.

A cold spring has led to a real celebration of spring flowers now.

I have bulbs still dying down, but everything from pinks to roses to foxgloves are going mad.

The peonies are starting to bloom with their big blowsy flowers. I have cottage garden style borders on overdrive with everything clamouring for space. Even my tiny wildlife pond has joined in with a water iris  :)

Everything is bonkers isn’t it? Somethings are late but others early & finished. My first day lily was out today

Anyone know what flower is this? It spreads everywhere, but at this time of year it looks great. The bees absolutely love it too
