Compost Bin & Tomatoes query
« on: September 11, 2016, 20:30 »
Hi All,

First of all my compost bin (which has been setup and in use for around 8months) has lots of slugs in! Do I need to worry about this? Silly question I know.

Also more worryingly my tomato plants have gone very yellow. Around 75% of the plant has suddenly turned yelow and the stem has turned dark. Is this something to worry about? There are still tomotoes growing (looking healthy and green).

Thanks.

No, I wouldn't worry. They help to break things down, in my heap I have slug, snails, voles, slow worms, toads, and frogs, and it seems fine!
As for your tomato plants, it's getting toward the end of the season so plants will be starting to look tired. Concentrate on the fruit.
We come from the earth, we return to the earth, and in between we garden.
