T&M have a special offer on Sweet aperitif toms, which they claim are the sweetest toms ever, plus they're hugely productive...

Before I shell out my 99 p plus about four times that for postage, has anyone here grown them? If so, what did you reckon?

Hi Snoop, got my aperitif tomato seeds in with other stuff, grew sungold last year so if they are as good as them I think they should be lovely :)

Thanks loobs61. We grow Sungold too and love them. We also grow Gardeners' Delight and like them too. In fact, it's because we like Sungold so much that I think I might resist this year and perhaps see for next year.

Check whether these are F1 Hybrids or not. The seeds are flagged as F1 but the plants are not. I've also seen an article in the Guardian which says they are not F1 Hybrids.

T&M seem to have got their knickers in a twist about F1 Hybrids on their website this year as I've seem more than one tomato seed where the website says F1 but the packet doesn't. >:(

I bought some plants online last year. Maybe, because they were delivered later than I would have liked they did not perform as well as my own seed grown varieties. They didn't crop particularly well and the taste was nothing special. Maybe growing them from seed at the right time would give a more productive plant. I look forward to hearing how others get on with them.

DT Brown have them for £2.29, postage is free, and twice as many seeds.
I was almost tempted last night as I want 'Samantha' cabbage as well.
