What time of year do you apply growmore, now and dig it in , as you plant or a little often?

I generally apply my first dose, about 4 handfuls every mē in Feb, forking it in, but water in if there is no sign of any rain. After that I apply 2 handfuls to each Mē every 8 weeks or so as a top dressing around plants, hoeing it in if possible & again water in if no sign of rain.
