Bag for life.

Why do none of the supermarkets offer the ability to purchase them online with your shopping order?

I need a couple but I'm going to have to drive into town and physically visit a store to buy them just so I can have something to transfer my shopping into when it's dumped on my doorstep in crates without carriers.

Do an Iceland home delivery order. Shopping comes in recycled carrier bags that are quite strong and seem to last for ages...

I have some ocado standard plastic bags but they don't hold much and tins / cardboard boxes tend to rip them very easily, I just want 2 or 3 of the poly ones to keep handy and it seems very silly that you can't buy them with your shopping when you can order just about everything else from store

edit : I see waitrose sell theirs online  ::)

We have a large plastic box and transfer the deliveries into it, then it's taken into the kitchen where all the items are checked off the printed emailed order. It saves some items from some items being flattened or tipped sideways as could happen with a bag. Works for us, especially when our niece is here who has it down to a fine art especially as my OH now writes against each item where he wants them to be stored.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I have a couple cloth-sided baskets that fold flat when not in use.  The US grocery store (Kroger) sells them for about $5 each. They hold 2 or 3 times as much as the bags and can handle that weight.  I sometimes use them for moving documents between the main office in Atlanta and my at-home office.
