Title: Our New Girls
Post by: Ma Lowe on April 13, 2011, 19:26
We went away on Saturday for 2 nights in our caravan and stayed on a farm where there were loads of chickens. Somehow 2 of them found their way home with us don't know how that happened  ::) ::)

First one is Matilda a mixture of welsummer & Drebyshire Red Cap

and this is Miss Offley(named after the farm) a Derbyshire Red Cap that has an upright comb instead of the flat cap they are supposed to have.

I don't know what it is about the chickens that have something different about them than they should have but I take to them more as to me they are unique. :D

They're beautiful!!  Whether or not the they meet the "breed standard".

We've brought loads of stuff home in the caravan - including a rescue dog - but chickens..... now there's an idea.  They do make coops on wheels, surely.......
