Just been looking at Dobie's website and realized that I haven't seen my Bleeding heart for two years!
Obviously, I'm not expecting it yet this year, but it didn't make an appearance last year, now I think about it.
I used to have a competition with my friend about whose was bigger....
Okay, my question is - do they get old and die or have I done something wrong?
I haven't planted anything else where it was nor dug it over, but it's about 5 years old and the soil is dodo. (clay, heavy) (although, I thought it was okay where the BH was)
ooh, and it's exposed to the wind etc there (but last year there was a willow fence there, so that can't be it)

Are you talking about dicentra? AKA Dutchman's trousers? (Wrong forum if you are. :tongue2: :nowink: )
Mum has been collecting them for years now, some have 'succumbed' some have thrived. Also on heavy soil.
Keep a close eye open for it this year, and if it really has gone, it could be worth trying a different variety in it's place.
