newbie question - wood, rubble etc...
« on: February 21, 2011, 14:05 »
we have just got an allotment a week ago and I have noticed that all the allotments have their little crates of broken slabs, rubble and odd bits of wood.   I know we need to build up a bit of a stockpile but just wondered where you get this from?  I've been looking online but can't find anything - can you just take it from the local tip?

I'm wondering why people would want broken slabs, rubble & odd bits of wood cluttering up their plots, I don't!

No you can't legally take it from a council tip. Once deposited there it becomes the property of the council, or their contractors.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Whilst digging through the large pile of soil at one end of my latest plot, I have come across some rusty corrugated sheeting and broken glass. You are more than welcome to come and collect that if you like  :) ;)
