well there is me saying the channel islands never gets snow and we had the worst in 30 years! i planted 5 rows of spuds 5 days before and the next day they say we are having snow lol. oh well but anyways now that its all melted and i was wondering if its ok to plant out my 3 new blueberry plants? i dont want to cold to kill them off but be interesting to know.

Blueberries are pretty hardy in the UK unless there is a sharp frost when they are flowering (which is usually quite soon for the earlier varieties, but not this year thank goodness!)

Poorly drained or alkaline soil are a much bigger problem for them than frost, although they do need to be kept well watered.

thats good to know, i bought compost to make the soil acid and also acid feeder to keep it going so hoping this is will work will plant them over the bank holiday.

Mine are a couple of years established and we've had no snow or frosts for a while here and they're doing fine.

Bit wild that you guys got snow! Just proves, anything might happen with our weather!

Not surprised sparky. It's snowed in North Devon too.
